Westlake Chamber's Volunteer Day

We would love for you to join your fellow Chamber members to support Green Doors’ mission to build healthy community spaces for residents to enjoy.

Green Doors’ newest development, Treaty Oaks Apartments, provides integrated supportive and affordable housing to mostly individuals and some families who are at-risk of homelessness or have successfully exited homelessness. It includes 47 apartment homes and is well-situated near the services and opportunities needed by Green Doors' residents.
 
The major renovations of the property are now complete, so we are working towards creating a nice outdoor community space for the residents. This community space is a way to positively impact the quality of our residents’ lives by improving and beautifying the outdoor environment.  The community space at 3700 Manchaca Road will include a community garden, beautiful potted plants, and more.  They need our help creating these outdoor spaces!

Work to complete: shovel recycled glass into place around a large area, plant succulents in pots, install a fountain, and work on some of the smaller flower beds.

Expected working conditions: There will be some heavy lifting and repetitive motions. Please wear closed-toe, sturdy/comfortable shoes. Sunscreen and hats are recommended.  (Most areas will be shaded.)

What to bring (only if possible): work gloves, large shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows
