This Westie is given to a business that has been opens for less than two years in the Greater Westlake area. They should have also demonstrated one or more of the following: Growth and Stability, Commitment to Quality, Creative or Unique Solutions to Challenges, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and/or an Overall Contribution to The Greater Westlake Community.
Finalist: Kelly Coulter Therapy, PLLC
Kelly Coulter, Westlake resident, recognized the need for more mental health support in the community and opened Kelly Coulter Therapy in July 2019. Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor, and a Certified Daring Way Facilitatorä. With over 20 years of experience working in diverse therapeutic settings, Kelly spent 12 years dedicated as a school counselor in Eanes ISD. Her unique ability to support and collaborate with families and schools, while forming meaningful connections, is demonstrated by her thriving, full practice. Kelly Coulter Therapy partners with Westlake area schools to deliver presentations to school staff, students and parents. Kelly has a deep passion for empowering children, teens, adults and families in the Westlake community as they navigate a variety of life’s stressors. She also supports the Westlake community by volunteering at her children’s schools, youth sports, and other activities such as Girl Scouts and Destination Imagination.
Finalist: Shine of Westlake
Shine of Westlake specializes in window cleaning, holiday lighting, pressure washing, roof & gutter cleaning. Shine embodies the approachable Westlake entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to quality daily! Shine is most known for a high level of customer experience and really showing the 'Shine difference' by not leaving the job until the customer is fully satisfied. All Shine employees are trained to demonstrate daily attributes such as safety, positive energy, excellence, and serving! Since it’s opening in September, Shine has partnered with the Westlake Chamber and WHS football team.
Owner and Operator, Wesley Mack has called Austin home for the past 20 years. He graduated from St. Edward's University, married his best friend Allison, and is currently playing zone defense against 3 kids. Wesleu worked as a sales operations professional for some of the largest tech firms in the world, including IBM & VMWare, prior to purchasing Shine Westlake franchise.
Finalist: Sway Westlake
Sway, the award-winning Thai restaurant by local hospitality group New Waterloo, opened its third location in West Lake Hills in December 2018. Inspired by the Thai phrase, “Same Same, but Different,” Sway offers the iconic dishes and service that initially garnered the brand’s acclaim, but with a focus on providing a unique and warm space for Westlake residents to come together. Since its opening, Sway has been an active member of the Westlake Chamber of Commerce, participating in the July 4th Parade, Chamber Golf Classic and speaking at a Chamber luncheon, as well as sponsoring the Westlake High School football team. Additionally, Sway regularly donates time and talent for a host of needs in the Westlake and Greater Austin area, including No Kid Hungry, Waller Creek Picnic, Texans Can, Sustainable Food Center's Farm to Plate, HAAM Day, Austin Restaurant Weeks and March of Dimes' Signature Chef Auction in 2019 alone.
