WCC in the Picayune April 2017April 01, 2017This month, EISD Superintendent Dr. Tom Leonard has invited the Westlake Chamber to host the Westlake Community Luncheon at Westlake High School to tour and learn more about the Westlake Business Incubator program. Incubatoredu blends entrepreneurship lessons with an experiential approach to traditional business subjects. It is designed to excite Westlake High School students about becoming true entrepreneurs by giving them the opportunity to create and fully develop their own product or service.
Real-world entrepreneurs and business experts will serve as coaches and mentors guiding student teams through the process of ideation, market research, and business plan development. Over the course of the year, student teams will learn about marketing, accounting, human resources, how to run experiments on their Business Model Canvas, customer segmentation, pricing, web development, as well as the legal aspects of starting a business. They will have access to a network of professionals to further develop their skills (teamwork, problem solving, presentation, communication) for college and career readiness.
The Westlake Community Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, April 18th from 11:30am – 1:00pm with lunch catered by Texas Honey Ham. The Westlake Community Luncheons are open to everyone in the greater Westlake community, but advance registrations are required.

From savory pancakes to creamy Queso and a variety of menu items for various dietary needs; Kerbey Lane Cafe serves comfort food with a twist. Kerbey Lane’s Westlake store (in The Villages at Westlake) is a family-friendly location with “Kid’s Eat Free” promotions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and is a proud supporter of the Westlake community.
