Austin, TX, August 17, 2017 – In response to the EISD Board of Trustees and the 2017-2018 EISD District Improvement Plan, the Eanes Education Foundation (EEF) is developing an alumni rela- tions program that is scheduled to launch this fall. Working in cooperation with the district, EEF will build the Westlake Alumni Association to engage and network the strong community of district alumni and faculty.
“As a Westlake High School graduate and parent of students in the district, I’m thrilled that Ea- nes ISD and EEF are building an alumni association to help graduates continue the strong con- nections and rich heritage of Eanes ISD. The Westlake Alumni Association will benefit gradu- ates by enabling business connections, social connections, sharing of information and WHS re- unions.” - Laurel Sockwell, EEF Board President.
In order to focus on this newest initiative, EEF Executive Director, Kathi Haralson, announced a re- organization that will further serve the Foundation’s growth and help to expand donor relations.
EEF is pleased to announce that Cathy Hoover will fulfill the new position of Alumni Association Director. Previously holding the role of Development Director, Cathy will guide the alumni rela- tions program to offer alumni support including networking, communication and reunion ser- vices. Coming soon will be an official networking platform and alumni reunion tent for this fall’s football games. As a separate initiative, the EEF Board is looking to expand the Foundation’s corporate presence in the community. Under Cathy’s leadership as Corporate Gifts Officer, Corporate Giving will grow and evolve into a greater part of the EEF portfolio.

Additionally, EEF is excited to introduce Elizabeth (Liz) Neff to the staff as the part-time Major Gifts Officer. Liz has a B.S. in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin and a M.S. in Organization Leadership and Ethics from St. Edward’s University. Liz comes to EEF with exten- sive experience in non-profit fundraising; including tenures at CASA of Travis County and Hyde Park Schools Foundation. Liz and her husband, Brad, have two young children, ages 2 and 4 and serving the Austin community is a focus for their family. Currently, they are involved with CASA of Travis County, Little Helping Hands and The Junior League of Austin. Liz is excited to join the EEF staff, has a heart for the mission and is grateful for the opportunity to take part in keeping educational excellence a priority within Eanes ISD. Please join us in welcoming Liz to the Eanes ISD community and to EEF!
"I have been humbled by the generosity of the community during my first year as the Executive Director of EEF,” said Kathi Haralson. “As I look toward future sustainability for EEF, this reor- ganization brings forward the greatest assets of Cathy’s expertise with EEF and exciting new prospects in what Liz’s talents will bring to the staff. These changes will result in an enhanced ability for EEF to contribute toward educational excellence in EISD.”
EEF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to raising funds in order to provide and sus- tain district-wide opportunities for educational excellence within Eanes ISD, serving approxi- mately 8,000 students.
